Thurston is worked from bottom-up in the round in 1/1 ribbing from the brim and in 2/2 ribbing for the body of the hat. The beanie is started with a Tubular Cast On edge, which gives the hat a stretchy edge and a finished look.

Sizes: Child (adult small/medium, adult large).
Circumference (unstretched): 40 (46,5, 53) / 15 ¾ (18 1¼, 20 ¾) to fit a head with a circumference of approximately 48 (53, 56) cm / 19 (21, 22) “.
Shown in size adult S/M.

Gauge: 24 sts & 32 rnds in 1/1 & 2/2 ribbing slightly stretched. Measured over relaxed fabric without any stretching.

Yarn & notions:

• approximately 180 (230, 260) m /200 (250, 270) yards of DK yarn.
• 3.25 mm / US 3 circular needle with a cable of 40cm/16” and a cable suitable for small circumference knitting (80 cm/32”) or 3.25 mm / US 3 DPN’’s.
• Stitch markers (7 sts marker and 1 different for BOR-marker), tapestry needle.

Thurston est un bonnet classique qui se tricote en rond du bas vers le haut. La bordure repliée se tricote en côtes 1/1. Le corps du bonnet se poursuit en côtes 2/2. La construction débute par un montage tubulaire pour obtenir une bordure extensible et soignée. Pour terminer des diminutions formeront le haut du bonnet.

Tailles : Enfant (adulte S/M, adulte L).
Circonférence du bonnet 40 (46,5, 53) pour un tour de tête d’environ 48 (53, 56) cm. Les 2 versions présentées sont tricotées dans la taille S/M.

Échantillon : 24 mailles & 32 rangs en côtes 1/1 et 2/2 pour un carré de 10 cm de côté avec les aiguilles 3,25 mm ou autre taille d’aiguilles permettant d’obtenir l’échantillon.

Laine et matériel :

• Fil utilisé : Cardiff Cashmere classic (112 m / 25 g - 2 (2, 3) pelotes ou environ 180 (230, 260) m de laine de de type DK.
• Aiguilles circulaires 3,25 mm avec un câble de 40 cm et un de 80 cm pour le magic loop ou des aiguilles double pointes de 3,25 mm
• 8 anneaux marqueurs dont un différent pour le début de tour, aiguille à laine.
