Tiao Pi the Monkey
This little monkey is a fun, easy, and quick project.**
Tiao Pi the Monkey lives up to his name: Tiao Pi (“Pi” is pronounced “pee”, so rhymes with monkey!) means rascally and mischievous in Mandarin - and this little cutie is quite cheeky!
From the top if his head to the tips of his feet he is just under 8 inches tall using worsted weight yarn.
This monkey amigurumi pattern includes detailed instructions and step-by-step photos, plus you can contact me along the way to ask any questions.
It is an easy level pattern that involves starting with a magic ring, single crochet, increasing, decreasing, attaching pieces, changing colours, and working through both loops and back loop only.
Materials you will need:
- E US (3.5 mm) hook
- worsted weight yarn, approximately: 50 yrds (46 m) main colour; 12 yrds (11 m) contrasting colour
- yarn/tapestry needle
- removable stitch markers
- two 15 mm plastic safety eyes
- polyester fiberfill stuffing
Note: If you are making this amigurumi for someone under 3 yrs, I recommend crocheting or embroidering the eyes instead of using the plastic safety eyes.
