Tidal Beach Shawl
This is Tidal Beach, so named because the ripples remind me of the pattern left in the sand of the beach in the wake of the receding tide.
Tidal Beach is a triangular shawl constructed in the usual way: knit from the top down with a centre stitch and four increases every right side row.
The pattern includes both written instructions and charts. Construction and stitches are relatively straightforward, so suitable for those less experienced lace knitters out there. It’s a design that knits up quite quickly, as only four out of every 24 rows are patterned. And it’s got a lot less purling than most lace shawls!
The gorgeous sheen of the silk in Fyberspates Scrumptious Lace really works in this shawl, but any lace weight yarn can be substituted. The pattern will also work well in 4ply as long as needle size is adjusted appropriately. Gauge is not essential for this project but will impact on the size of the finished shawl.
Tidal Beach has been test knit and checked over by a professional tech editor.
