Tidal Fades Shawl
Tidal Fades Shawl:
Inspired by a summer vacation to Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor, Maine, this shawl design was created while watching the ocean tides move in & out each day against Acadia’s granite cliffs. With yarn purchased on that vacation I wanted to create a piece that captured our time there & that would remind me of the summer season when the months got cooler.
*
Using my favorite stitch the yarns smoothly faded into the Tidal Fades Shawl, the perfect triangle shawl/scarf to drape over your shoulders at summer’s end, to layer over any fall outfit and to cozy up around your neck as winter rolls in.
*
Although written for a worsted weight wool, this shawl is easily customized to any weight yarn or any variation in sizing to make it the perfect layering piece for your liking! And with so much possibility for color variations between the tides & fades sections, its easy to create a one of a kind shawl, tailored just to you!
The pattern requires a basic knowledge of crochet techniques & an advanced beginner crochet skill level. Pattern is written in standard US terminology. Uses roughly 630 yards of worsted/aran weight yarn.
SIZING:
one size fits most adults (or an over-sized look on kids!)
AFTER blocking: 68” across & 44 inches to point (not including tassels)
SHARING IS CARING!
