Silk and Mohair combine to drape and move dramatically with your own movements. Handmaidens Maidenhair and Fleece Artist’s Montague are combined to create this elegantly draping garment. Knit with undyed yarns the shawl is then finished with handpainting and embellishing. The Shawl is knit circularly and starts from the deep edging, a dramatic scallop and lace pattern knit with Maidenhair. The inner body of the shawl is knit in stockinet with Montague. The shape of the garment is created by squaring the corners as you knit each round.
Handpainted with Sea-stars, sea-weed and beach stones and then embellished with more Sea-stars. The 3-dimensional Sea-stars are also handpainted and embellished with beads to catch the light. The beads are knit into each sea-star and are randomly placed. Each Sea-star is unique, just as the ones on the beach. The edging is painted to highlight each Scallop shell.
