Tidal Wave Hat
The Tidal Wave Hat begins with ribbing for a stretchy fit. Loose rolling cables alternate to transform ribbing into WOW. The cables terminate elegantly to close the top of the hat, in both a shorter version and a taller version for a perfect fit. Bulky yarn and big needles make this quick knit a breeze! It’s a great introduction to knitting cables.
Hat circumference can be adjusted by changing needle size. Ribbing is very stretchy, which means a good fit for many heads! Stretching fabric wider will make it shorter, though, so you can make the hat taller to compensate. I was happy with the fabric on a US 8, US 9, and US10 needle.
Thanks to tech editor Meaghan Schmaltz, and test knitters Ann Berg, Michelle Corcoran, Katherine Ellison, Marion Fetters, Elaine Replogle, Susan Schwartzenberger, and Nan Wagner.
The Tidal Wave Hat has coordinating mitts! You may purchase either pattern separately or together in the Tidal Wave Accessories Collection ebook.
