My daughter’s friend’s mom asked me if I could make a hat with an opening big enough to fit over and around an existing bun. Her daughter is a dancer and has trouble wearing winter hats over the hair bun she needs for practices. Hence the name, Tidy Bun Hat! Having said that, it’s certainly not meant to exclude the messy bun wearers out there.

The design is simple to showcase the super bulky yarn. The variety of ribbing and decreases makes for an interesting and quick knit for both adventurous beginners and seasoned veterans. Enjoy!
