The Tie Scarf is a versatile and practical scarf with a classic look inspired by neckties and menswear. It is worked flat in k1, p1 rib with i-cord edging. This pattern includes instructions for narrow stripes of 2 rows as well as wider stripes of 26–30 cm. Because the scarf is straight, the length can easily be adjusted according to your preferences. No sewing required.

The Tie Scarf is worked in k1, p1 rib and is completely reversible, as it looks the same from both sides. The i-cord edging frames the scarf on the long edges; it also secures the yarn slightly at the edge where the colour changes. In the pattern, I sometimes refer to the right (RS) or wrong side (WS) of the work – this is simply a way to orientate yourself while working.
The diagonal stripes and the points at each end are formed by increases every row along one edge of the scarf and decreases every row along the other edge.

You can of course use leftovers and suitable scraps from your stash. Use your swatch to check whether they are appropriate for the pattern.
