Love is the tie that binds us together.

Tie That Binds is a richly cabled cowl with a pattern of intertwining rings bound together between two knots. It is a slouchy neck warmer size, suitable for both men or women.

Tie That Binds is knit in the round and uses a 100g skein of worsted or Aran weight, and is a quick knit.

This pattern is both charted and written

Although this pattern is written for worsted or Aran weight, a sport yarn, dk, or almost any yarn can be used. Drape will be more important than gauge. The finished size can be customized by changing the number of cast on stitches in increments of 30.

All cabling is done on the even rows. Odd rows are knit and purl stitches as you find them.

Finished size:
8” tall and 20” around -- done in worsted (brown sample)
Shorter Cowl: 7” tall, 20 x 22’ around -- done in Aran (blue sample)

Skills: Basic understanding of cables, casting on, binding off.

Stitches used: K, P, 2/2LC, 3/2 LPC, 3/2 RPC, 3/3/LC, 3/3 RC

Gauge: 4.5 - 5st/inch in stockinette, roughly

** THIS CABLE PATTERN DRAWS IN QUITE A BIT. USE A SIZE OR TWO LARGER NEEDLES, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A TIGHT KNITTER.

I hope you enjoy the Tie That Binds!
