Tiera is a garter stitch shawl knitted top down and shaped with short rows. The top edge has a simultaneously knitted I-cord that hides perfectly the non-working yarn carried along.

Yarn:

2 skeins of any fingering weight yarn 400 m/ 437 yds per 100 g. The sample was knitted with Chester Wool Company’s Merino Silk Singles (70% merino, 30% silk, 400 m/100 g).

The yardage is an estimate, the sample shawl used 94 g of colour A (light) and 92 g of colour B (dark).

If you run out of yarn, you can always knit the last section with a third colour. If you want to make the shawl bigger, add more rows to the border.

Needles etc:

3.75 mm (US 5) circular needle 100 cm (40”) or longer.
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
A crochet hook, size close to the needle size.
Four stitch markers.

Gauge:

21 sts x 50 rows (25 garter ridges) = 10 x 10 cm/ 4 x 4” in garter stitch after blocking.

Finished measurements:

After blocking 175.5 x 58.5 cm/ 69 x 23”

The pattern has been tech edited and test knitted.
