Tierney
Chilly nights and ocean breezes call for a good, light, Summer cardigan like Tierney. The textured waist band is knit first from side to side, and it’s a wonderfully portable start to the sweater. Stitches are picked up along the long edge of the waistband for the body. It’s knit up in stockinette with waist shaping for an attractive fit. The body is divided and stitches are bound off at the underarms. The back is placed on hold while each upper front is knit. Then the back is removed from hold and knit up, to be joined with the upper fronts using a three-needle bind-off. With the body complete, stitches are picked up around the armholes for each sleeve and shaped using short rows. The button bands are also picked up and knit from the body and feature a sturdy one-row buttonhole. For the best fit, choose a size with 0-3 in / 0-8 cm of negative ease through the bust.
The stitch pattern comes in both written format only.
