Tiggywinkle features our perennial favourite, Blackberry Stitch / Bramble Stitch / Trinity Stitch, call it what you will. We will be totally upfront here, this is not the easiest pattern to knit we’ve ever designed, but then again it’s not the hardest requiring a Phd in Pattern Following. Basically beacuse of the increasing / decreasing with the Blackberry stitch the stitch count changes between pattern rows and this gets a bit tricky when you are near the top of the raglans as we wanted to keep the pattern going for as long as possible. So, we’ve written out the last few rows of each size in full. Even so, if you’re a few stitches off when you get to the neck it really won’t matter one little bit. Seriously. Remember, YOU are the boss of your knitting.

Tiggywinkle’s sleeves are knitted flat, the body knitted flat and all in one piece to the armholes and then the sleeves are joined in and the raglans worked. By the time you’ve finished you’ve only got to swap needles for the moss stitch border and then pick up stitches for the front bands and do a tiny bit of seaming on the sleeves. If you’re knitting in advance of Baby’s arrival and don’t know the gender then work buttonholes on both bands, then when you do know the gender and come to sew on buttons it’s easy to close one set of buttonholes up when you sew the buttons on.
