Tilda Doll Susan
Susan likes to get out and about, today she’s going for a walk in the park. She’s chosen to wear her new mint green, hip length coat and soft brown leggings.
It’s a bit windy so she’s wearing her ear muffs and has her warm gloves on a string around her neck, so she can’t lose them!
Tilda Doll Susan is knitted flat. She is worked from the head down and the stitches are divided to form the legs. Her arms are knitted separately and are sewn on.
Susan’s clothes and accessories are all sewn on to the doll.
I have included a photo tutorial to show you an easy way to apply Tilda style hair.
This pattern is suitable for confident beginners-
The doll and her clothes are knitted flat and use basic shaping. I also explain the SSK stitch for those who may not be familiar with it.
Tilda Susan is suitable both as a decorative item and as a toy for children to enjoy- If you are making Susan as a gift for a child, for safety reasons, please substitute French knots for the buttons on the coat.
