Tilly
Pattern Description from A Fine Fleece: “With so many lace scarf designs, I decided it was high time for a cabled scarf. Following the lesson I learned from the Road Not Taken scarf, I let Tilly take me on a completely new journey in design. I knew I wanted a scarf that could be worked at a multiple of gauges, from a diminutive sport/DK weight all the way up to a heavy worsted, ultra-warm version. What I didn’t know was how to edge the scarf to make the flat surface that so many of us expect in neckwear. The obvious choice would have been moss or seed stitch, but the additional stitches added to the chart repeat made an extra-wide, heavy, worsted version. I threw caution to the wind and decided to let the cables do their business unassisted. I adore the result. What better accompaniment to dramatic curving cables than a softly rolled edge? I couldn’t resist exploring the contrasting theme further with the rustic handspun Churro yarn to compare with the soft and luxurious Rowan Felted Tweed at the finer gauge.”
