Pick 2 contrasting/coordinating skeins of fingering weight yarn, and cast on for a fun Brioche knitting adventure featuring a large “scarf” border of tilted tulips that you work in the usual way from top to bottom. After finishing the scarf, you can decide whether you want to turn your Brioche scarf into a shallow, crescent-shaped shawlette by picking up stitches along one of the sides and working some short rows, or whether you want to leave it as a scarf. The shawlette is about 5-foot 2 inches end to end, and is 13 inches wide at its center, deepest point. This pattern would also work up nicely in anything from fingering weight through DK. I used about 800 yards total (400 per color) to knit this piece. Full written instructions and several video help links are included in the pattern.
