Timberdoodle Hat
I first sketched this pattern a few years ago. I love how the zigzags switch and sort of ramble up the hat, peppered with the lighter accent colors in a way that reminds me of sparkles on choppy water. While a Timberdoodle is a shore bird, the name of the bird also seemed to fit with playful nature of the hat.
This is a great stash busting pattern, using less than 40 yards of 4 colors with lots of colorful outcomes possible. The pattern uses Super Bulky yarn. I’ve included 2 charts, one with the top light accent color detail and one less “busy” version without it. The pattern is written in 3 sizes: child, adult m/l, and adult l/xl. Shown in Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick.
