Timberland is worked in the round with stranded colourwork technique. It knits up very quickly in 2 colours, a perfect project for the beginners.
Hat begins with an optional tubular cast on, the crown shaping is integrated into the colourwork pattern. Please note that the colourwork pattern is charted only.


Gauge
28 sts and 30 rounds = 10x10 cm/4”x4” in charted stranded colourwork pattern knit in the round with larger needle after blocking
Obtaining the correct gauge is not crucial, but any differences will affect the size of the finished hat.

Finished Measurements
43 (46.5: 53.5: 57: 60.5: 64.5) cm / 16¾ (18¼: 21: 22½: 24: 25¼) inches circumference at widest point, 19 (21: 23: 25.5: 26.5: 27.5) cm / 7½ (8¼: 9: 10: 10¼: 11) inches height, slightly stretched. The sample is a size Adult S, shown on a 55 cm / 21½ inches head.

Approximately 75 (95: 120: 150: 165: 180) m/85 (105: 130: 165: 180: 200) y of MC, 40 (50: 65: 75: 85: 95) m/45 (55: 70: 85: 95: 105) y of CC.

Sample made with The Plucky Knitter Snug fingering (70% Merino, 20% Cashmere, 10% Alpaca; 352 m /385 y per skein) in colourway Twill as MC and Wanderlust as CC.

Needles
· 80 cm/32” circular needle or 40 cm/16” circular needle and double pointed needles (dpns) in each of the following sizes: 3.5 mm/ US 4 and 3.0 mm/ US 2½ (or size to obtain gauge)

40 cm/16” circular needles and dpns are optional if you prefer the Magic Loop Method for working small circumferences in the round.
