Add a touch of glam to any outfit with this timelessly chic, houndstooth-patterned clutch. It has a zipper and is fully lined and you can add a wrist strap for extra functionality. In this pattern, I have used the same yarn (and the same colours) as I used in my Timelessly Chic Cowl pattern, so the two pair together wonderfully.

The bag is knit in the round on 3.5mm and 4mm 32-inch circular needles using the magic loop method. It starts with a closed cast on (Judy’s magic cast on), which means there are no seams. For the houndstooth pattern, there are both written instructions and a chart. The yarn is Malabrigo Rios, which is a worsted weight yarn.

Please note that there is a reasonable amount of sewing involved in this project. For the lining, I actually made a lined, zippered fabric bag, and then sewed the knitted bag to the fabric bag. There are detailed instructions (including photos) at the end of the pattern for how to make the fabric bag. And while it is not essential to have a sewing machine, it will be a lot quicker and easier than hand-sewing. I also include brief instructions of how to make a simpler, single-layer zippered lining. This option will be quicker if you are sewing by hand.
