Notes on construction 

The Tincture Shawl is constructed from top to bottom from a garter stitch tab cast-on. It is a very simple triangular shawl that alternates garter stitch sections and openwork that is easy to remember and follow for both expert knitters and beginners. The selected yarn creates a beautiful gradient effect that simulates melting mountains or a misty landscape. But you can also play with colours and look for the forest’s shadows or the ocean’s gradients. The shawl ends in an elastic (2x2) and a closure that gives it elasticity so that the openwork sits and the motif shows off well.

Yarn

This shawl is knitted with a single-weight yarn—a type of wick-type thread that makes the shawls fall beautifully and is very sweet to knit.

Amounts may vary because of the type of yarn, personal gauge, and any changes made to the pattern.

Colour 1 - C1 - 45 g / 165 m / 181 yd  of single-fingering yarn.

Colour 2 - C2 - 60 g / 220 m / 241 yd of single-fingering yarn.

Colour 3 - C3 - 40 g / 146 m / 160 of single-fingering yarn.

Suggested Yarn

I suggest using LITLG’s Singles Sock yarn for this shawl. The single thread enhances the shawl’s drape and fluffiness, making it a perfect halftime garment for transitioning between seasons.

The sample uses the same colour in 3 intensity variants.

C1, C2, C3: 1 skein of LITLG Singles Sock in each shade in fingering weight (100 g / 366 m; 3.5 oz / 400 yd; 100% Superwash Merino) Color: Winter Solstice Ice Sky (gradient kit with 3 shades) from light grey to speckled dark grey.

Needles

Main fabric: circular needles 3.75 mm / 80-120 cm US 5/32-47” or the size needed for the correct gauge.
Ribbing: circular needles 3.25 mm / 80-120 cm US 3/32-47” or the size needed for the correct gauge.

Other accesories
Tapestry needle, markers and 1 safety pin to show the Right Side of the garment. 

Gauge
22 stitches x 48 rows = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 ” in GARTER ST worked FLAT after blocking.

Being a shawl, the gauge is not essential, but it can change your yarn requirements and the final measurements of the garment if not adjusted properly.

Notas sobre la construcción

El chal Tincture se construye de arriba a bajo a partir de un montaje de lengüeta de punto bobo. Se trata de un chal triangular muy sencillo que alterna secciones de punto bobo y un calado fácil de recordar y de seguir tanto para tejedoras expertas como para principiantes. El hilo seleccionado crea un hermoso efecto degradado que simula el deshielo de las montañas o un paisaje brumoso. Pero también puedes jugar con los colores y buscar las sombras del bosque o los degradados del oceáno. El chal termina en un elástico (2x2), y un cierre que le da elasticidad para que el calado se asiente y luzca bien el motivo.

Hilo

Este chal está tejido con un hilo de un solo cabo -single-, un tipo de hilo tipo mecha que hace que los chales tengan mucha caída y que es muy agradable de tejer.

Las cantidades pueden variar según el tipo de hilo, tu muestra personal y cualquier cambio que hagas en el patrón.

Color 1 - C1 - 45 g / 165 m / 181 yd de hilo single de grosor fingering.
Color 2 - 60 g / 220 m / 241 yd de hilo single de grosor fingering.
Color 3 - C3 - 40 g / 146 m / 160 de hilo single de grosor fingering.
En la muestra se utiliza un mismo color en 3 variantes de intensidad.

Hilo recomendado

Mi recomendación para este chal es el hilado Singles Sock de LITLG. El hilo single le da un extra de caída y de esponjosidad al chal que pretende ser una prenda de entretiempo que te acompañe en el cambio de estación.
En este caso el color
el mismo pero está teñido en distintas intensidades.

C1, C2, C3: 1 ovillo de Singles Sock de LITLG de cada tono en grosor fingering (100 g / 366 m; 3,5 oz / 400 yd; 100 % Superwash Merino) Color: Winter Solstice Ice Sky (kit degradado con 3 tonalidades) de gris claro a gris oscuro moteado.

Agujas
Tejido principal: agujas circulares de 3.75 mm / 80-120 cm US 5/32-47” o el tamaño necesario para el calibre correcto.
Elástico: agujas circulares de 3.25 mm / 80-120 cm US 3/32-47” o el tamaño necesario para el calibre correcto.

Otros Accesorios
Aguja lanera, marcadores y 1 imperdible para mostrar el lado derecho de la prenda.

Muestra de Tensión (Galga)
22 puntos x 48 filas = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 ” en Punto MUSGO tejido PLANO después del bloqueo.
Al tratarse de un chal la tensión no es esencial, pero puede cambiar los requerimientos de lana y el tamaño final si no se ajusta a ella.

Técnicas
Montaje de hebra larga (Long-tail cast-on).
Montaje de lengüeta (Garter tab cast on).
Cierre sorprendentemente elástico de Jeny (Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off).
