Tinsel Chunky Teddy Bear
King Cole Tinsel is a great yarn for softies because the seams hardly show which helps give a really professional finish.
The yarn takes a little getting used to - and I include lots of tips in the pattern - but it’s become a firm favourite of mine.
For the teddy, you will need just one ball of King Cole Tinsel in Ingot 1710 or in any other colour you like plus some matching or co-ordinating standard chunky/bulky yarn. For this bear, I used Debbie Bliss Rialto Chunky in Gold. You’ll also need a small amount of black embroidery floss or lightweight yarn.
You will also need 1.75-2oz polyester toy filling, a pair of 10mm black plastic toy eyes, and 0.5yd of 10mm-wide ribbon to tie round the teddy’s neck (optional but looks nice!).
A very narrow knitting needle is useful to help you piece your work together but is not essential.
