A top-down, seamless baby sweater with pattern variations allowed for girl (with flirty scalloped edge) or boy, and winter-long sleeved version or summer-short sleeve. Fits babies of different sizes easily as it only buttons at the top and flares open. Easy enough for intermediate-beginner to tackle, but with enough elements to keep more advanced knitters interested.

A versatile pattern, I have knitted it in summer versions with bright colors and short sleeves, and winter versions with tweedy yarns and long sleeves.
