Tiny Parkdale Sweater for 11-12cm Dolls
The Tiny Parkdale Sweater is an Icelandic-style yoke sweater. It is knit seamlessly, from the top down, in Sulky 12wt cotton thread. No sewing up is required!
Instructions are included for two “pullover” versions - rainbow stripes and a fair isle design (both button up the back for easy dressing) and a fair isle cardigan version that buttons up the front. I have also included tips for substituting your own yoke patterns.
You may use straight needles or a circular needle to knit the yoke and body. The sleeves are knit in the round with double pointed needles, 2 circular needles, or magic loop.
As this is a very tiny sweater, no gauge is indicated. Knitting with the recommended needles and thread should result in a sweater that will fit an 11-12cm doll.
The models in the photos are: Pukipuki by Fairyland, 11cm Obitsu, 11cm Soom Imda Timp and an 11.5cm resin doll sculpted by Tatjana Shishatskaja. It should also fit similar sized dolls, but it has only been tested on the dolls pictured. Because the sweater is knit from the top down, it is easy to change the body and sleeve length to fit your particular doll.
Sulky 12 weight cotton thread can be purchased in small 46m/50 yard spools called “Sulky Petites”. One of these small spools has more than enough thread for the main colour of any of the sweaters. Only very small amounts are required for the contrast colours.
