Tiny Penguins
This simple pattern includes PDF file with detailed instructions and pictures on how to crochet and assemble all the parts to make this Penguins.
It contains:
- 13 pages
- 22 high quality pictures and 3 scheme
- step by step description
- 11 video instructions
Basic crocheting skills will be needed to make this pattern.
Final size of the penguins with the indicated materials and tools will be 7cm (2.7 inches) or 4.5cm (1.8 inches).
Materials and tools:
- Any mohair yarn or any fluffy yarn approx. 10 - 15gr of main color. Approx. 5-10gr white for the abdomen, muzzle and internal part of wings. Some orange for the beak and feet.
- For the pink penguin I used: 1 Kid Mohair yarn 100gr/900m and 1 Angora Rabbit Vento d’Italia yarn 50gr /350m simultaneously;
- For the blue penguin I used: Kid Mohair Yarn, 100gr/1000m grabbing 3 yarns simultaneously;
- For the tiny black penguin I used: Kid Mohair Yarn, 100gr/900m grabbing 2 yarns simultaneously.
- Some white yarn for the eyelids – acrylic or woolen yarn.
- A strong thread for the sculpting and sewing (for example, a reinforced thread).
- Toy stuffing (hollow fiber or other synthetic fiber).
- Toy eyes of a suitable size approx d. 0,4cm (you can use round beads instead).
- Size 1.5mm crochet hook for the pink and blue penguins, size 1.25mm crochet hook for the tiny black penguin. I recommend you to use a smaller hook, than indicated on the yarn, the work should be crocheted tight, so there will be no gaps between the stitches.
- Small sharp scissors with a plain nose to cut (you can use the manicure scissors).
- A long needle for sewing and sculpting, a tapestry needle.
- Velcro tape, a rough metal brush or a slicker brush – to brush the toy.
- A metal comb and a brush for eyelashes or a toothbrush for combing, flat brushes (bristle), and synthetic thin brush.
- Oil paints, soft pastel, or art markers to tint the toy, and a palette.
- A diluent for the oil paints – not oily!
- A black permanent marker and vanishing fabric marker (optionally).
- Paper napkins.
- I used for the scarf: YarnArt SILKY WOOL - 2 ply 35% Silk Rayon, 65% Merino Wool, 25гр/190м; 2 tiny pompons suitable size approx. 0,5cm; size 1,5mm crochet hook; superglue.
