Tiny Pine! Stay cozy and stylish with these adorable legwarmers. The lace pattern is simple to master and easy to keep your place- a lace worthy of knitting in public without fear of getting lost. From far away, the stitch patterns looks like a standard small lace design: cute, but not extraordinary. Up close, the lace reveals it’s secret: a forest of very small pine trees to adorn your legs. A bonus: the vertical stretch of the lace pattern means you can really get a variety of lengths out of one pair of legwarmers without much bunching. Festive for all seasons; lovers of nature, winter, and Christmas are all welcome. Tree huggers, rejoice!

Yarn: Shown in: Dream in Color “Classy” in color “Pale Olive”. Classy is a heavy worsted merino superwash and comes in 250 yard (229 meters)/ 113 gram (4 ounce) hanks. I used about 1 and ¼ hanks for the smallest size. You’ll want a worsted or aran weight yarn that gives you gauge and is smooth, multi-plied, (not super fuzzy) so that the pattern stands out nicely.
Gauge: In stockinette: 4.5 sts/in. (18 sts/4in, 18 sts/10cm) In pattern stitch: 4.25 sts/in (17 sts/4in, 17 sts/10cm)
Needles: DPN’s in size needed to obtain gauge. I used US size 5/3.75mm.
Sizes: 3 sizes, 10in/25.4cm(small), 11.25in/28.5cm(medium), or 12in/30.5cm(large) around, unstretched. 20in/50.8cm tall, unstretched. Size can be altered by changing the gauge, or by increasing or decreasing the number of sts cast on in sets of 6. They are pretty stretchy, though, the small size easily stretches to 14 to 16 inches around (35.5-40.6 cm) to fit comfortably above the knee.
Skills: knit in the round, knit, purl, increases, decreases, cast on and off.
Accessibility Notes: All charted sections also written, 12 point serif font with bolded and underlined headings, no columns (except for abbreviation key).
