Tiny squirrel in acorn cup basket
TINY SQUIRREL - These must be some of the smallest knitted squirrels you’ll ever see with hazelnut-sized heads and walnut-sized bodies. To keep them safe their mothers pop them into acorn cup baskets which they hang in trees.
QUICK and EASY to knit squirrels in acorn cup baskets are great little fund raiser at fairs and bazaars.
TINY SQUIRREL knitted flat on pairs of 2.75mm needles. Basket on 3.25mm needles (US sizes 2 and 3). Small amounts of double knitting yarn are required (USA use light worsted/Australia - 8 ply).
This pattern was created and written by knitwear designer Wendy Phillips for the Westmorland Red Squirrel Society which is a British Registered Charity (No.1144416). All proceeds from the sale of this pattern will be used by the charity to help maintain a healthy population of red squirrels in South East Cumbria (English Lake District).
