Tiny Star Produce Bag
Made from colourful cotton with a tiny star at the centre - because you are a total star if you use these instead of single use plastic bags - these produce bags are big enough to fit a bunch of bananas or a handful of potatoes, they only weigh 30g and you can pop them in the wash when they get dirty.
And they are the perfect meditative, quick, satisfying, watching Netflix make that will continue to make you feel good every time you get them out and use them.
I created this pattern for my brother’s partner Bonnie.
She is an amazing person who has a passion for and the will to change how we treat our environment.
In particular she works very hard to educate people on how much rubbish we make with disposable items like drink cups, takeaway containers and single use utensils, and shows them there are way better options available.
So with this is mind I wanted to make her something reusable and useful but still fun and so the Tiny Star Produce Bag was born.

Details
Level: Easy
The pattern uses a variety of techniques, including taller stitches and joining with a stitch - though tutorial links and heaps of photos make it accessible for confident beginners.
Yarn: Approx. 75 meters (30g) of 8ply (DK) cotton yarn.
I’ve used Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK.
Cotton is recommended for this type of item but you can use any DK weight cotton.
You can use a different weight yarn with an appropriate hook but the finished size will vary. Here are some of the yarns (and hook sizes) my testers used.
Lincraft Cotton 8ply (4mm), Phildar Phil Coton 3 (3.5mm), Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton (4.5mm), I Love This Cotton (5mm), Bomulds garn cotton (4mm), Full Circle Fibres Eco Cotton 8ply (4mm).
