Tiny Tutu Tote
This is a downloadable pdf loom knit pattern for a small ruffle bag.
This cute tote is knit on a 38 peg long loom in one piece and has very little sewing. Includes joined straps and button hole closure. Has a flat bottom. Knit with 2 strands of medium weight cotton held together as one and ruffle yarn. Also a 3/4” button and plastic canvas for the bottom needed. Tote is worked wrong side out. Ruffles will be to the inside of the loom. The tote will be turned right side out when taken off the loom.
Finished size approximately 10” x 6” x 3” with straps about 22” long.
Pattern is for advanced beginners.
Techniques Used:
-U-wrap or flat knit
-Purl
-E-wrap cast on
-Crochet cast on
-Yarn over
-Slip stitch
-Adding yarn in middle of project
-Basic bind off
-Binding off only part of the stitches
-Working in the round and flat panels
-Transferring stitches from one side of loom to the other
-Making a button hole
This is a great pattern to learn how to read a pattern since step by step video tutorial links are included with written pattern.
Pattern includes 4 versions. Lots of ruffles with ruffles knit every row (pictured in black). Light ruffles with ruffles knit every other row (pictured in red). Few ruffles with ruffles only knit for 2 rows (shown in gold). And no ruffles with cotton yarn only (not shown).
The possibilities are endless with this small bag! Great for adults and children alike.
