Tip Toe Socks, an easy pattern for all knitters - and the best of all - they have no heels. Since they don’t have heels, they will fit the child’s feet as they grow. These are a great gift for premature borns, newborns or older children. They can be knitted up as a Christmas gift or just when you need a quick, simple project.

The pattern includes 5 sizes, the socks are knitted in Drops Merino Extra Fine (1 skein = 50 grams/115 yards).

Sizes and materials:

Premature - 100 yards/40 g
0 - 6/8 months - 115 yards/50 g
8/10 - 2/3 years - 115 yards/50 g
3/4 years - 6/7 years - 230 yards/100 g
7/8 years - 10/12 years - 230 yards/100 g

Skill level 1 & 2: Beginner/Easy

The pattern includes knit and purl stitches and decreasing stitches. You will find links in the pattern showing how to decrease. It is written in English, German and Swedish and has written detailed instructions row by row.

The socks are knitted in the round with DPNs or with magic loop on circular needles, depending on which technique you prefer.

You will need:

  • DPNs or circular needles: US 2,5/3mm
  • Yarn (merino wool, wool, acrylic or any other DK/light worsted/8 ply yarn)
  • Tapestry needle

This project is also perfect for scrap yarn if you have any left over yarn at home!
