I love scarves. I like them long enough to wrap around my neck twice. I like them in soft colors with brighter pops. The only thing I don’t like about scraves is knitting them really… This is why I came up with this design. You can wear it like a scarf or a shawl. Two-color brioche will help you showcase a daring variegated/speckled yarn while keeping the shawl versatile if you pair it with a more subtle main color.

Construction notes
The shawl is knit on the bias from the left to the right end and shaped with short rows. The pattern is written for 2 colours but you could change color for each contrast wegde (see Yarn above).
The shawl is a succession of sections of:

• one colour brioche
• two colour brioche short row wedges Each of these sections is detailed row by row and stitch by stitch. If you struggle with brioche stitches there are wonderful tutorial videos on youtube that you can access for free. Brioche sounds intimidating but really it’s a piece of cake! (pun intended).
