Tippy the raccoon
This .pdf crochet pattern is written in standard American crochet terms. With this very detailed pattern, you can make a super cute little rascal, a (baby) raccoon!
This is an intermediate pattern made with basic stitches. The difficulty lies in creating the seamless body. Instructions for working up the body are well explained.
Size
If you use the recommended yarn, your raccoon will be 6 inch / 15 cm from nose to bottom.
Materials
For this crochet raccoon you’ll need worsted weight Istex Lètt Lopi yarn and an E US/3.5 mm crochet hook. You’ll need three colours of yarn: grey heather - 0057 (1/5 of a 100-yard skein), light ash heather - 0054 (1/10) and black sheep heather - 0052 (1/10). For the eyes I’ve used 8 mm animal safety eyes. You will also need fibrefill, I’ve used wool filling, and a pipe-cleaner for the tail is optional.
The crochet pattern contains
An intro with useful info. List of materials, tools and accessories needed. Brand and colour numbers of the needed yarn. A clear and colour coded description of how to crochet and assemble the animal, with instruction images with extra notes next to the text and example pictures at the bottom to help you get everything right. All my patterns are text edited for correct English and have been tested by experienced crocheters before publishing.
Yarn
Istex Lett lopi. I strongly recommend using a fuzzy yarn because it gives the best result. Keep in mind a different type of yarn can give a different result!
Gauge is unimportant for this pattern. If the pieces are crocheted tightly enough, they will not gape visibly when stuffed. You can make a little test swap to be sure.
