Okay, so it doesn’t look like a sock at all. But the two ends of this little tissue case are worked like the toes of knit socks: the cast on edge is like a sock worked toe-up and the bind off edge is like a sock worked cuff-down. Since it is worked in a worsted weight yarn, this quick project is an easy way to practice two toe techniques without having to maneuver teeny-tiny sock needles. It uses Judy’s Magic Cast On, but you can substitute any “no-stitch” cast on that you’d like to practice (a Figure Eight cast on or Turkish Cast On, for example.) The bonus is you end up with a functional little case to protect purse sized tissue packets in your purse! It uses such a small amount of yarn that you can use little scraps left over from other projects.
