The romper is knitted bottom up. The pattern is one type of ribbing, which makes the texture lofty and stretches some when the child grows. There are a few short rows in the back of the waistband to add more height. All ribbings are bound off using italian sewn bind off. There are 2 separate button holes in each shoulder strap, so they can be shortened/lengthened as needed.

Note! This pattern works best with 100 % wool! Different materials can behave very differently, even if the gauge is the same.

Sizes: 1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6), fits a child who is 50 (56-62) 68 (74) 80 (86) cm tall. The romper fits roughly a 0 (3) 6 (9) 12 (18) months old child. Choose the right size by measuring a onesie and comparing those measurements with the finished measurements of the romper. If there is only one number of stitches, it applies to all sizes.

Gauge: 24 sts x 34 r = 10 x 10 cm in pattern
Needle size: 3,5 and 4,0 mm circular needles, or another sized needle to get the right gauge. Long circular needles for magic looping the ribbing around the leg openings, or double pointed needles.
Notions: 3 opening stitchmarkers, 2 buttons (2 cm in diameter) and a darning needle

Finished measurements:
The romper is meant to be quite fitted, because the pattern stretches quite well. When choosing the right size, measure a onesie the child is using. It is also important to meet the right gauge to ensure you end up with the right size. Knit a generous sized swatch, soak it and let it dry flat before measuring the gauge.

Romper on suunniteltu olevan aika vartalonmyötäinen, koska kuvio joustaa hyvin. Kokoa valitessa, kannattaa mitata esim lapsen bodyn leveyttä ja mittaa kainalosta haaroihin. Lisäksi on tärkeä päästä ohjeen neuletiheyteen oikean koon varmistamiseksi. Neulo reilun kokoinen mallitilkku, kastele se ja anna kuivua tasona ennen neuletiheyden mittaamista.
