What you will need: Materials and Tools
• cotton blend yarn, Fine / Sport, UK 5 ply (it can be Yarnart jeans 50 g/160 m, Alize Cotton Gold etc): white or cream – 100 g, red – 50 g, brown – 10 g, yellow – 5 g;
• crochet hook: 1.5 mm;
• Embroidery floss: for decorating the lantern – black or brown; for embroidered decorations – green;
• Beads: yellow, red, pink, green;
• Needles: for sewing pieces together; beading needle;
• Stuffing: for filling the toadstool cottage;
• Metal granules (optional): for weight, to make the house more stable;
• Thick cardboard: (2-3mm) – ~10×10 cm; Stationery cardboard – ~10×10 cm;
• 1 button: 6 mm.
This pattern is written in American crochet terms. There are different terms for crocheting in British and American English. You must be familiar with basic crochet stitches: single crochet; decrease; increase; chain; slip stitch.
The pattern is supplied as an instantly downloadable digital PDF file, so you will need a PDF reader such as Adobe Reader to open, print and save the file.
