This is the 7th pattern designed for the 2013 hats for kids project,. It incorporates a short decorative band using slip stitches to add color and texture to the body of the hat.

This is a fairly easy knit. The slip stitch band goes very quickly since you only have to knit every other stitch in the brown row.

The hat size is suitable for a child in 1st or 2nd grade.
