Toasty: the perfect no fuss chunky cowl

When it’s freezing outside, the wind is howling down the back of your neck and you are longing for a quick solution, look no further than ‘Toasty’.

This chunky cowl is perfect as a beginner project. It starts flat, making joining it in the round a little easier. Then you get plenty of knitting in the round and finish with learning the purl stitch.

It is equally good as a quick knit for a more experienced knitter with a cold neck. You could whip this up in a matter of hours, making it the perfect last minute gift.

Lofty (Chunky; 80% wool, 20% nylon; 106m/100g skeins)

14 sts and 18 rows to 10cm / 4” in stocking stitch knitted in the round, after blocking

Pattern notes

This pattern starts flat to make it easier to join the knitting in the round, and to avoid having to purl. Once the garter band has been established the work is joined in the round and the body is finished. The final garter band is worked in the round.
