These simple little booties are a quick knit. They are knit flat, starting at the bottom center, and bind off at the top of the cuff, with one seam to sew. As written, they are sized to fit a newborn, or the stitch counts or gauge can be easily manipulated to obtain a larger size. They take little yarn, and so can be made from sock yarn leftovers.

Materials:
-fingering weight yarn, approximately 90 yards (generous estimate, mine used about 75 yards)
-Needles sized US #1 (2.25 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge. Booties are worked flat (back and forth), they may be worked on a 16 or 24-inch circular or straight needles.
-4 small stitch markers

Gauge: 8 stitches/inch (To obtain approximately newborn sized booties. Using heavier yarn, such as sport weight and larger needles will yield larger sized booties. Or cast on more stitches and adjust stitch counts to obtain a larger size.)
