Toasty Toes Slipper Socks
These are fun and quick to knit on any bulky or mid-gauge machine. A ribber is helpful but not essential Instructions for making safe non-slip soles are included
YARN, GAUGE, SIZE AND MACHINE These are designed for #4 worsted weight yarn on any bulky or mid-gauge machine. The yarn must be soft to use #4 on the mid-gauge. The sample socks are made from Encore Colorspun from Plymouth yarn which is 75% acrylic/25% wool. 1 skein made the pair of socks shown which is the smallest width and second length in the pattern. Adjust the stitch size to get a fairly firm fabric at 5 stitches/7 rows per inch. Bond knitters can make these, probably using the #2 keyplate. Ribbing stitch size will be 1-2 numbers smaller than stockinette stitch size. Choose ribbing stitch size by what works well for the machine and makes a ribbing that pulls in nicely.
