This very simple pattern is effectively double layered and amazingly warm.

Using only garter stitch throughout, it is knitted bottom up. The band is knitted first. Stitches are picked up from one edge to knit the crown.

Since you are guided by colour and not stitch/row count, it is well suited to ‘mindless’ knitting in the midst of hubbub or in front of the telly.

I chose to use an amazing Malabrigo Mecha yarn but paired it with an economy Cygnet solid colour. Really any chunky or even aran weight would work just as well.

Suitable for a beginner or novice.
