Tobacco-Bag
This pattern is
available for free.
The second of our little series of home-made presents for the coming Christmas is a crochet tobacco-bag. Our lady correspondent in Paris has forwarded us the sketch and directions and our readers may, therefore, feel assured that it is quite one of the newest patterns. Green silk and gold thread are the materials used. A steel hook of suitable size is employed and the stitch is double crochet—worked into the back loops of the row beneath.
Gold thread is somewhat costly for people of ordinary resources—especially where one has to provide presents for rather a large family circle—so I think old-gold-coloured silk, which is, besides, easier to procure than a gold-thread of the requisite fineness, will be found a satisfactory substitute.
