I made this poncho with bulky yarn and two colors (though any number of colors can be used for the stripes). Using self-striping yarn would make the piece even faster to knit. The poncho is knit in the round and shaped with decreases. The approximate measurements of the finished piece are: arm length 15 inches, shoulder width 3 inches (each), face opening 6 inches, and bottom circumference 56 inches. To make a bigger size, you could add additional rounds to the beginning before starting the decreases and reduce the number of shoulder decreases. I made this poncho for each of my grand daughters and they really like it.
