Toddler Woolies
Toddler Woolies are wool pants made from the top down, in the round. They are seamless. The waistband is knit and the legs are separated and also knit in the round.
There are three sizes: 12 month, 2T and 3T. Also included are instructions for cloth diaper wearers and disposable diapers. The disposable diaper pants are trimmer, while the cloth diaper verison has more room to accommodate the bulk!
Things You Will Need:
- 4.0 and 5.0 sixteen inch circular needles, 4.0 and 5.0 double pointed needles (set of four)
- You will need 625 yards worsted weight wool. Broken up it is 75 yards for starting color (waistband) and 11 skeins of 50 yards each for strips. I had a lot of yarn leftover, so I estimate it really took about 450-500 yards.
Info:
2T disposable diaper pants measure 17 inches from waist to cuff. The waist is 6 inches with a stretch to 8.5 and across the hips is 10 inches.
Gauge: 4.5 sts by 5.5 sts in one inch when working knit in the round on 5.0mm sixteen inch circular needles
Sizes: 12months (2T, 3T)
Pictures in the pattern are of the 2t disposable diaper woolies, on my 18 month old (he’s in the 90% for height and wears 2t)
There is a free video tutorial linked in the pattern for the size 2t cloth diaper pattern. You can view it here.
