I was looking for a Yoda hat to make for a friend’s son, but wasn’t thrilled with any of the patterns I found, so I made up my own. The ear flaps are worked flat first, then the hat is worked from the bottom up, in the round. The Yoda ears are knit flat on smaller needles to keep them stiff and attached separately.

Gauge isn’t exact; I’m not great at measuring gauge, so as long as you are close you should be good. The hat in the pictures is just a bit loose for my 1 year old model, and stretches to just barely fit my 8 year old son, so it fits a wide range of children’s sizes. Also, I used yarn out of my stash, but any yarn of a similar weight will work.
