80% of proceeds from this pattern will be donated to VOKRA - Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association. VOKRA is my local cat rescue. They do amazing work, I’ve fostered for them before and also adopted both my cats from them.

Of course, you’re welcome to donate money to your local animal shelter or wildlife organisation instead! Just send me a message with a photo of the receipt and I’ll send you a discount code. :)

And since toe beans are for everyone, you are absolutely welcome to send me a message if you can’t afford it.

It seems like a lot of people are interested in knitting socks or are maybe wanting to get into knitting socks for the first time. That’s awesome! This pattern will provide you detailed instructions and links to useful videos or written tutorials on how to do each technique referenced in the pattern. I’ve tried to make the pattern as explicit and beginner friendly as possible, and I’m happy to answer questions.

EDIT: Huuuuuge caveat on yarn choice! I’m checking against other sock patterns and a 60st circumference foot for a large seems like rather low on the number of stitches. THEREFORE, my conclusion is that you should use a heavy fingering yarn, or a sport weight, maybe even DK or aran weight yarn to achieve gauge.

EDIT2 (Sept 25, 2020): I’m going to tweak the pattern a bit this weekend regarding the increases on the toes. My personal preference is for a Lifted Increase but I think that doing Lifted Increases every row actually causes problems because of how a lifted increase works. If you’re having issues and I haven’t updated the pattern with this errata yet, suggested fixes are:

  • using a different increase altogether (both M1 and kfbs will work)
  • use a Lifted Increase (LLI or RLI) but alternate for M1 or kfb every other row
  • switch increase every other row (eg: LLI row 1, RLI row 2)
  • stagger lifted increases, (eg: row 1: k2 RLI, row 2: k3 RLI, row 3: k2 RLI)

You’ll need:
1 darker coloured yarn
1 lighter coloured yarn
1 pinkish coloured yarn
US size 1.5 circular needles (2.5mm)
tapestry needle
some locking stitch markers

This pattern was made for one of my best friends, who bemoaned their lack of cute cat paw sock options because they have feet larger than the “one size fits all” (aka one size fits women’s US size 6 to 10) socks.

The sock itself is essentially a simple toe-up stockinette sock with a Fleegle heel. I’ve included the chart for the toe beans and the rounded toe, and written instructions for a Large (men’s US size 11) and Medium (a woman’s US size 8), and maybe after some feedback, I’ll test knit and include a pair of baby sock sizes.

You’re welcome to use and adapt this colourwork motif for your own personal projects, or for knitted items for sale. Please just credit me and please do not resell.
