I have been a devotee of toe up socks for ages. Over time I have customized a technique that allows me to pick up needles and yarn and go, literally.
I have finally written up a setof directions and for the month of July we are having a toe up KAL on the Holiday Mystery Gifts Yahoo Group. After that the pattern will be here.

This recipe is customizable for any yarn (heavy wearing yarn is suggested) and suitable needles (giving a tight fabric for wear). A set of five needles is suggested.
The recipe uses a short row heel, but an alternative heel with gusset is also shared.
