This hat is made with Icelandic yarn, which is both water-resistant and warm. I have drawn my inspiration from the some of the motifs you find in that most iconic piece of Icelandic knitting, the lopapeysa sweater. And because some people find Icelandic yarn a little harsh to wear right next to the skin, I’ve designed the hat with a double thickness brim, the inside of which is made with lovely, soft superwash merino.

The hat is worked in the round and uses the fair isle/stranded knitting technique. It includes both a chart and written instructions, so you can use whichever you prefer.
