My son graduated from Oxford as a Master of Physics in 2000. Some years later I used his academic dress as the basis for this little chap. The outfit isn’t completely accurate. The suit should be darker (but wouldn’t have shown up under the gown) and he should be wearing a white bow tie.

The pattern is included in Toilet Roll Covers but the publishers changed the name to Degree of Success. To us he will always be Master of the Rolls.
