Tokyo shawl
Size:
wingspan:284cm
deepest point: 75cm.
Tokyo shawl is a modern triangular shawl with a three-dimensional fabric look and is worked from the point to the neck edge, beginning with a small number of stitches. Increases are positioned a stitch/ 2 stitches from the edge which form the border on both sides of shawl. Pattern stitches are worked in the way that the shawl is wearable on both sides: there’s no right or wrong side of the knitted shawl.
Dues to the construction this shawl with a very broad wingspan would drape you nicely over a summer dres, keep you warm on the seacoast or wrapped over you as some warmly hugs in fresh spring day. Whatever, this shawl, cover-up, top-cover, you name it,- can be used everywhere, and why not in a weddings party or on city shopping tour, or take ashort breack in a caffee with friends? In a cold winter allows also to be used as a top, cover-up or beautiful wrap.
Shawls are wonderful to knit for so many reasons. You can learn some new technique, use any weight of yarn, and have fun styling the shawl in all sorts of different ways. Tokyo shawl construction is very flexible: you just can make this shawl in size you are happy with. Shawls are a really great “low pressure” project because the gauge usually doesn’t have to be super precise.
Shawl (yellow)is knitted in 3 threads of yarn held together: 1 thread of Kid Silk Seta yarn and 2 threads of Cashmere Lace held double.
This shawl can be easily knitted in one thread of any DK weight yarn. I highly recommend using a well, easy drape yarn- it can be some yarn with a 10% to 30% of silk or alpaca, or 50% alpaca and 50% merino combination as example. In fact, it can be knitted of any weight type of yarn, in one thread or multiple.
