Note on yarn amounts: Both the hat and the mitts can be completed with 2 skeins total of Merino Alpaca. The hat takes just over one skein (some knitters may be able to complete it with one skein only); the mitts take about three fourths of a skein. The embroidery may be done with the same yarn or stash yarns; 2-3 yards of each color should be more than enough to complete the motifs as shown.
