This design was one from a book I designed in 2008. It was a book of men’s design and was very well received. I’ve been wanting to update the patterns from that book for a few years now, to make them available to UK and European knitters too (as the book was only available in the US) as well as do a single digital pdf download.
The knitting world has changed so much since 2008 and so I have updated the pattern to reflect this. The original had a hood but for this version I just kept it as a crew neck…for now!
This jumper is knitted in pieces with seams and is a crew neck. If you wanted a turtle neck or polo neck then that is super easy to do, just pick up the stitches as written in the pattern and then keep knitting to your chosen length.
I have always loved this type of stitch pattern. I’ve used variations of it in many other designs too, like the Heaton Tank Top, Leannan Jumper, Ravenscar Cardigan, Stannington Cardigan and Hubberholme Jumper for kids, to name a few!
For this pattern I used:
Yarn & Amounts: 6(6:7:8:8:9) 100g hanks of WYS Bluefaced Leicester DK (100% Bluefaced Leicester wool, 225m/246yds per 100g)
