Tom the T-Rex
I’ve made Tom the T-Rex using a super chunky #6 weight yarn. This is ideal for a soft and huggable plush toy and is a pretty quick make. He is 11 inches tall (when made with the recommended materials).
The 9 page pattern is intermediate skill level and is available in US and UK terminology – both versions will be available for you to download. It is clear to follow with detailed instructions and lots of pictures for step by step making and assembly. There are also picture instructions for invisible finish.
The following stitches/techniques are used in this pattern:
US Terminology - slip stitch, magic ring, single crochet, half double crochet, increase, decrease (sc2tog), invisible finish
UK Terminology - slip stitch, magic ring, double crochet, half treble, increase, decrease (dc2tog), invisible finish
Recommended Materials:
- Yarn: I have made Tom using Hobbii Honey Bunny (super chunky weight yarn) - colour and weight details in pattern
- Some black and white Aran weight yarn for the nostrils, smile and teeth
- Hook: 5mm (H) crochet hook
- Stuffing: I use polyester filling
- Safety eyes: I have used 15mm plastic safety eyes, but you can embroider the eyes on if you prefer
- Large yarn needle
- Pins
- (A stitch marker and row counter are useful)
(This pattern is for personal use only, not to be resold or rewritten in any way. I am happy for you to sell the finished toy, but please credit the design to me.)
